Debunking Viral Claim About the Talmud and Minors

In standing up to Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro deserves support for calling out right-wing antisemitism and speaking the truth, even when it’s costly.
This past weekend at Turning Point USA, Ben Shapiro took the stage and did what too few have been willing to do: he told the truth and drew a line in the sand against antisemitism in the conservative movement.
Shapiro didn’t mince words. He called out Nick Fuentes as exactly what he is, a pro-Hitler racist whose venom extends far beyond Jews to include women – including the vice president’s wife – Black Americans, Asian Americans, and countless others.
He confronted the troubling reality that figures like Tucker Carlson have given Fuentes a platform, attempting to mainstream his toxic ideology. He challenged Carlson’s increasingly anti-Israel rhetoric and Candace Owens’ transformation from someone who built her career with support from Israeli venture capitalists to a voice that demonizes the Jewish people.
Turning Point USA draws thousands of young, impressionable conservatives. Recent studies, including work highlighted by Yair Rosenberg in The Atlantic, show that antisemitism among young people is rising at an alarming rate. Despite attempts by some politicians to blame immigration, the data tells a different story. This hatred is homegrown and spreading.
We cannot allow ourselves to be used as political pawns. Too many politicians now cynically position themselves as anti-Israel and anti-Jewish because they believe it will win them votes. They see a path to power and take it, regardless of the damage they inflict.
The past three and a half years have taught us a crucial lesson: you cannot separate the Jews from Israel. The BDS movement understood this from the beginning. Overt antisemitism faced resistance, so activists cloaked their hatred in anti-Zionism instead. It’s the same poison in a different bottle.
What’s particularly disturbing is the response from some quarters. Megyn Kelly’s defense of people like Owens and Carlson – “but they’re my friends” – reveals a stunning moral blindness. Friendship cannot excuse hateful content. Personal relationships cannot override our responsibility to stand against bigotry in all its forms.
Shapiro joined a small but vital group of truth-tellers who have refused to stay silent, warning both the Left and Right that they’re heading down dangerous paths. History has shown us repeatedly that what begins with the Jews never ends with the Jews.
The Left has embraced a particularly visible and aggressive form of antisemitism, evident across college campuses and progressive movements and in certain segments of the Democratic Party. But what Shapiro confronted this weekend was an attempt to align an entire conservative movement with anti-Israel sentiment and antisemitic tropes. If we don’t stop this now, it will only grow.
And he took real risks by speaking out, saying things that could affect his livelihood and standing. He did it because he believed the people on the other side were fundamentally wrong. That’s what moral courage looks like.
In that room full of young conservatives, Shapiro delivered a message they needed to hear: know your values and stand by them. If you want to traffic in hate, own it, but don’t wrap it in conservatism. Don’t pretend it’s something noble or principled.
People like Ben Shapiro, who stand in the trenches fighting this battle, deserve our support. They are defending all of us, not just the Jewish community, because when hatred is normalized, when bigotry finds mainstream acceptance, everyone ultimately suffers.
The battle at Turning Point USA this weekend was a microcosm of a larger struggle. Will we allow antisemitism to infect our political movements from all sides? Or will we demand better from our leaders, our media figures, and ourselves?
Rejecting hatred in all its forms, even when it comes dressed in political expediency, is not just good for the Jews – it’s good for America.
This op-ed originally appeared in the Jerusalem Post.

I am a proud Jew and a Vietnam veteran. I have been denouncing the Democrats and the left wing for many years because of their overt Jew hatred. As with Ben Shapiro I now realize there is Jew Hatred on the right as well. We must call it out even when it is uncomfortable to do so.
Every Jew should become a letter writer. Write to your Congressman, Senator and your local office holders. Tell them that to get your vote they must denounce Jew hatred and support Israel.
You have to understand that the antisemitism on the right is rooted in Christian Nationalism; something that has been present for a long time and is being openly proclaimed by high-level members of the current administration. It is this Christian Nationalism that drives Muslims and other minorities to support the Democrats. There is nothing "left" about Islam; devout Muslims are far-right but are unwelcome within the American right.
If you take the time to define what you mean by "left" and "right", it would be obvious that a true liberal could not be antisemitic but many conservative Christians are.
It is liberalism that allows Jewish and other minorities to thrive in the West. The challenge for liberals is to draw a line where their tolerance for illiberalism ends.
What do you suggest the average Jewish person-at-the-computer-screen DO to ameliorate this situation?
First thing is to pray. Looking forward to more ideas for Devorah’s good question. Sometimes I wish I could communicate with all those sunk in the hype and help them determine to also pray in their own words in their own way to G-d as they understand/relate to their Higher Power and ask G-d to make the truth clear how each individual in one’s own life lives in a good way and helps make the world a better place. (subtext go to G-d for guidance. He loves us all and has a way for each one of us to help bring Moshich). If i were signed up to the social media discussions, I might just send blessings for clarity to everyone.
If people are afraid to speak out against the antisemites at this point, how much more will they be afraid if things get seriously worse, God forbid! Now we can understand how the Nazis of Germany, not the majority, were able to get away with what they did. It appears that even when most people may disagree with the antisemites, they are more scared for their reputation and lives.
We need to realize that we need to return to Hashem in a real way.
The Jews of Australia are long-existing in Australia.
They are faithful, family-oriented, peaceful, hardworking, productive to society, and harmless.
The same is true for America, which was discovered by a Jew, and lived in by Jews since the 1600's.
They are an asset to any country, and NEVER should be made to experience any kind of pain, and suffer, especially because of hate.
Any society allowing this needs to take a good, hard look into itself.
Courage. Yes. At least he’s someone important or he wouldn’t be paid attention to would he
I’ll give him credit now. But where was this courage when Trump invited Fuentes to Mar a Lago with Kanye? Or when he equivocated “very fine people on both sides” in Charlottesville? Or when he “didn’t know” who David Dukes was? It’s good to see that the separation from the cultist wing of the GOP. But is it too little, too late? Trump legitimizes all those people. We don’t have the luxury of choosing sides when it comes to antisemitism. The left needs its Ben Shapiro too.
I respectfully disagree. Trump gives everyone a chance.
Sorry that you misinterpreted Trump's statement about "very fine people."
The leftist smear has already been debunked.
Republicans have always had to contend with traitors in our midst. Ask Lincoln.
You fail to point out Trump's courage in moving the U.S. embassy to
Jerusalem and helping Israel against Iran.
Why the blindness to his definitive support for Israel?
What exactly has been "debunked"? We know what Trump said.
Actually, as usual, you know only what the captured media told you he said. Believe it or not, you should not believe the mass media. Didn't vote for Trump, but so glad he won. I think we would have a repeat of the wretched awful Biden years with Harris. Did you know about the actual attempted coup against FDR in 1934 when our "elite" predators sought to replace him with a Mussolini-type leader? No? Not taught in schools, just the protesters of 1/6 - none of them armed and not an insurrection, but the lie keeps getting repeated. I hated Trump also in his first term, thought he was awful, but to a degree has redeemed himself in his 2nd term. I woke up to all the lies spread about him with 1/6 and the dismissal not just of Trump, but of those who chose him as President.
I have posted a link to the official transcript of Trump's remarks in a comment below. Besides hearing them live at the time, I have also read them since. Have you?
I won't waste time responding to your comments about the Jan 6 protests. I don't think you've examined the evidence for yourself.
I am surprised that there are still people locked into the Democrats' deceitful lies and propaganda. Trump is not leading the hateful propaganda against Jews, the left is. The left out context: "And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.
Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group."
Look, Greg, I'm not an American and when these events occurred in August 2017 I hadn't yet formed an opinion of Donald Trump. I watched the antisemitic chanting of Aug 11, the violence of Aug 12, and Trump's remarks of Aug 15 unfold live. I was not influenced by "Democrats' lies and propaganda".
In his prepared statement, Trump condemned white supremacists, neo‑Nazis, and the KKK. However, when off-script on the 15th, he defended the rally and "people who were there to protest the taking down of the statue of" a Confederate general.
You are happy to believe that these defenders of public artwork are not white nationalists and antisemites?
Do you dispute that the organizer of The Unite the Right rally, Jason Kessler, is a white supremacist and antisemite?
... continued
Who is Trump referring to who with "the press has treated them absolutely unfairly"? Who are these innocent people who answered the call of a white supremacist, or is this a lie?
Did Trump lie about the "troublemakers"? Kessler and others were found guilty of several felony charges and liable for millions of dollars in damages but none of the counter protesters were criminally charged or sued. (Trump's DOJ)
What action did Trump take to defuse the surging antisemitism? Did he call out Kessler and the other defendants (other than the driver who killed Heyer)?
I know the facts are very inconvenient for your narrative. However, a careful review of what actually happened should lead every Jew to condemn Trump's response to white nationalism which now infects even his cabinet.
Mr. Spier, with all respect, Sir, please stop repeating the thoroughly debunked “very fine people on both sides” hoax. As Jews, we are used to being lied about (and those lies taking on lives of their own) and should never do the same to anyone else. I'm sure you simply didn't know that has been debunked, even by those on the left such as Jake Tapper, who actually did so quite early on, and are simply repeating what you heard from so many. Let us always let the truth win out, even though it often takes longer for it to do so. Thank you.
No, I don't know what you mean about debunking what Trump said. What exactly was debunked? Please be precise!
For all of your faux-outrage, it clearly isn't a lie that he said those words, quoting from the official transcript: “and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides."
Remarks by President Trump on Infrastructure – The White House
Here is one. Listen first to the beginning comments and then it gets even more specific at 2:35 and through to the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7XPmEvJpWE. Thank you.
Interesting that you used the words, "faux-outrage" in describing my comment. I thought I was very respectful and logical in what I wrote.
It is never respectful to call people liars without a solid basis. Trump was describing a group that marched in Charlottesville chanting "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil". Had you been there, I would hope that you would have joined the counter-protesters, the truly "fine people". None of the people who participated in this rally deserve to be called "fine people".
He was not describing those people (this is the entire point -- nothing more, nothing less), as explained again in my previous comment, and in the video.
Just which people was he describing? They all came at the call of a rabid racist and antisemite but they weren't like him? Have you read about Jason Kessler? Why are you defending his mob?
These "fine people" on both sides is merely an attempt to deflect from this horrible mob that descended on Charlottesville and must not be defended.
So interesting what you are doing now. You are accusing me of "defending this mob." Would that mob you say I'm defending include the neo nazis and white supremacists? Surely you don't think I'm doing that. If you do, then I'm afraid there is really no point in continuing this conversation as you are simply not interested in facts. Again, I'm hoping you watched the video. If you have, and still don't get the difference (even pointed out by Jake Tapper) then I'm afraid nothing I say further is going to help. If you haven't watched it, then again, nothing I say further is going to help. (For what it's worth, I'm neither Republican nor Democrat. I seek truth, wherever that truth may lead.
Part of the context is "But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists."
What if that is the lie? You need to test this premise, since it would be impossible for Trump to have been speaking about these fine people if they didn't exist.
Why is Trump providing the group with cover like this? He happily calls out individual comedians, democrats, and anyone who doesn't support him, but racists and antisemites who support him get a pass, then and now.
I'm not R or D or even American. Those of us outside the USA are horrified, and deeply impacted, by what is going on there now.
Did you watch the video I included earlier or not? Before I respond to you anymore, I need to know. If you have not -- or refuse to do so -- then I'm respectfully ending the conversation as any further dialogue seems to be pointless.
Yes, Bob, I've watched the video. I'm trying to point out that you're engaging in a strawman argument. The issue is whether Trump's statement "but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides" is both true and properly reflects the reality of the event.
Since you have acknowledged that you aren't defending the mob, then I would assume that you see nothing wrong with protesters showing up to protest against this mob. So on the one hand, you have a premise that there may have been some "fine people" somehow embedded in this horrible mob (hard for me to believe) vs. a group protesting against this mob, the truly "fine people" whom I presume you would support.
But, instead, Trump makes it sound like both sides are equally worthy. That's the issue.
Thank you for watching the video.
You wrote: "Since you have acknowledged that you aren't defending the mob, then I would assume that you see nothing wrong with protesters showing up to protest against this mob."
My reply: Of course, I see nothing wrong (and everything right) with it!
But, AGAIN (and I don't know how many times I have to repeat this in order for you to understand my point) -- my issue with the original comment from Mr. Spier was only about the "fine people on both sides" quote (and the meaning those on the political left assigned to Mr. Trump) which was debunked, yet continues to be spread as fact. That's it. That was my point. Anything else is a different conversation. I hope that clarifies things.
And my point is -- what is it, precisely, that has been debunked? The phrase is being used as shorthand for pointing out that Trump has repeatedly failed to make a distinction between racists and anti-racist protesters.
Have you read the entire transcript?
"There were people in that rally — and I looked the night before — if you look, there were people protesting very quietly the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee."
... while chanting "Jews will not replace us".
"Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch. Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue of Robert E. Lee."
Have you investigated the history of these Confederate monuments; who commissioned them, when and why?
I've answered your question (your first question in your most recent comment) so many times now I really have no other way of trying to explain it. And I believe the remainder of your paragraph is simply you communicating what you would like to believe.
For the record, of course I don't agree with the confederate statues being left up. I'd like all of them to be torn down. I understand what they represent and their history. But that is a different conversation and not what the Rabbi's post was about, nor what my original point to Mr. Spier was about.
I truly feel that we are at an impasse, and any further conversation will not be productive. So I am stepping away from our exchange. Thank you.
I agree that we have nothing more to say to each other.
I do, however, think that you owe Mr. Spier an apology, since he was right on when he wrote: "when he equivocated “very fine people on both sides” in Charlottesville ... Trump legitimizes all those people."
Listening to the entirety of Trump's remarks on that occasion makes the equivocation and legitimization abundantly clear, regardless if you see some ambiguity in that particular phrase. In his remarks, Trump did explicitly legitimize the people "protesting very quietly the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee." and, he never once mentioned the antisemitic slurs being chanted.
Mr. Spier is correct that Trump has not shown the courage that Shapiro has finally shown.
Please read my comment above and try to develop a love for truth!
Are you saying that Trump never said “and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides."
Where's the lie?
Hi ADS, I'm saying that the words you heard in the video (assuming, hopefully, that you watched the video) explain that the words you and others continue to quote...were taken totally out of context. And that's very important! My question for you is, "are you looking to 'win an argument' or are you seeking truth?" It is thoroughly obvious that the words, "fine people on both sides" was not directed at the neo-nazis/white supremacists. Again, if you'll watch the video you'll notice that. But you need to watch with a desire for truth and understanding; not just for what you would like it to mean because it suits a particular agenda.
You can read the remarks for yourself. They are not taken out of context. Simply inventing "fine people" amongst those rabid antisemites shouldn't provide Trump with an excuse for the antisemites he didn't want to alienate. He may have condemned "neo-nazis" and "white nationalists"; by saying both things, all his people hear what they want to hear. Nevertheless, these same people remain a part of his circle.
Getting back to the article: The "truth" is that the far-right is infected with antisemitism. Conservative Jews like Shapiro are finally noticing that they are caught in the middle. Trump is also caught in the middle since he is dependent on the support of these people among whom there are some who understand "America First" to mean "Jews Last".
Please see my response from a few moments ago, and apply that here. My point is only about one comment being taken out of context (and since debunked) and continuing to be spread, both knowingly and unknowingly. And that is what I believe is wrong.
It is very hard to keep up with the facts in light of so much propaganda, for example how after Hms’ Oct 7 invasion, massacre and unspeakable atrocities against Israelis, it’s being inverted as though the Israelis were the villains. Even those who would like to stand with Israel have a hard time getting access to, and being proficient in, the facts. I recommend looking for reporting by Bruria Efune. It is from inside Israel where things are actually happening, and it is concise, yet somehow gives so much context in short sentences. She has a series of almost daily updates on the war which are still relevant.
Kudos to Shapiro for finally recognizing that organizations that promote a White Christian nation are going to be infected with antisemitism?
Have you not noticed how many American "conservatives" define their privilege with the notion that the USA was founded as a Christian nation?
You need to start with a clear-eyed view of what "conservative" and "liberal" mean in a modern American context. If you understand how anything as illiberal as Islam can find cover on the left, then you'll also understand why antisemitism has, always, been a factor on the right.
Unfortunately, people like Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson
get more attention than they deserve. I believe they also may be
on someone's payroll for doing this, just like Jimmy Carter in the past.
Most conservatives in the USA understand our debt to our Judeo-Christian
heritage. Christianity is totally based on Israel, the Hebrew Bible, and
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Christian Messiah is
totally Jewish and lived His entire life in Israel, and observed the Shabbat.
"To the Jew first" is in Scripture.
The enemies of truth try to twist things, just as they are trying to
twist the Talmud. But be assured they will not win.
Ben Shapiro has millions of Christian supporters.
Let's be grateful for all his supporters, both Jews and Christians.
You misunderstand my point about how these overlaps play out. Few people outside of these echo chambers know who these people are (Owens, Shapiro, Kirk, Fuentes) or have heard what they actually say.
However, there are people who are on the inside that most people do know and listen to, e.g. Trump and Vance. This is how their influence affects the larger sphere.
What has Trump said about Shapiro? Nothing, period. He doesn't want to offend any of his supporters like the ones who go around chanting "Jews will not replace us".
What has Vance said? Worse than nothing: “We have been, and by the grace of God, we always will be a Christian nation.”
Christian Nationalists are explicitly antisemitic. Don't be fooled by their apologetics.
I suspect these characters are getting money from Qatar and other Muslim countries with oil money, like the schools from kindergarten till college/ universities are getting money to brainwash students against Jews and Israel, follow the money trail, of oil monies that is my theory, like my mom's( obm) once hairdresser said " money talks, and bologna works"
I don't get it, the Christians believe in a Jew, and they hate Jews and are anti Semitic, it is like the sci- fi show Star Trek one charcter says it is illogical, meaning it makes no sense, they worship a Jew, and don't like Jews, that is putting mildly
What they profess is both illogical and blasphemous but Christians don’t have have a tradition of law or self critique so they completely miss the core contradictions of their religion: G-d discards his covenant to israel and the Torah - this would mean G-d makes mistakes or cannot be trusted (G-d forbid) and wants Jews and others to pray to a man. This is a violation of the first commandant. Their core belief in JC is based on prophets who kept the law but “predicted” cancellation of that law and future pagan worship? Their books are based on purported second hand accounts and are based on Greek translation of the Bible and not Hebrew. They say the Law is old and replaced by JC but then what code of conduct should man live by? The sword? Innate logic or beneficence? They provide none.
The Church claimed for centuries they were the new Israel and proof of G-d rejection of Jews and the Torah was the destruction of the Temple and the Jewish exile. Zionism and modern Israel reborn throws that narrative out completely bc the ingathering of the exiles is also prophecy. Israel’s mere existence negates the centrality of this Church dogma. Billy Graham would say that to be a Christian means to start with the NT and work backwards. That places a man figure before G-d and creation. And that a man can be a god as well which defies the unity of G-d as One. They say JC brings world peace and is a god figure. So far, no world peace and mashiach is a Jewish king that lives not a bring that removes sins or dies. Christianity = myths of Osiris, Mythra and Zoroaster.
Well, if Jesus ever did return like the Christians expect him to, they might get a very unpleasant surprise!
I am in complete agreement Rabbi and kudos to conservatives for having those conversations however painful whereas democrats just swept their Jew hatred under the rug.
There are many Jewish Democrats. The Boomer generation grew up with knowledge of the Holocaust and WWII from our own parents. The appalling lack of history education has allowed these mid-20th century catastrophes to be nothing but names and dates in a book, as relevant to most younger people as the Seven Years War.
Many southern Democrats became Republicans in the wake of the much needed Civil Rights Act of the 1960’s. The upper class old guard GOP had economic concerns and fear of the Soviet Union, and Jews became allies for those reasons.
I will never become a Republican because I have lifetime of experience of their lack of concern for women and minorities. I am voting more Republican because too many candidates do not support Israel.
Were I Israeli, I would belong to Labor
Excellent! I’m not that familiar with Shapiro but I fully agree with him! Anti-semitism is not a partisan problem - it’s on both the right and left - and needs to be eliminated.
It really should be eliminated, but in Europe it was persistent and then the Holocaust happened, and once again anti semitism/ anti Jewish hate is on the rise first the Nazis ( may their name be erased) now Muslim Arab terrorist countries pay oil money to infect and brainwash the world against Jews and Israel, and the best seller in Arab Muslim countries is " Mein Kenif " ( my fight or my struggle) by Adolf Hitler ( may his name be erased) meaning before these two enemies had a alliance against the Jews, and now the cancer of anti semitism is spreading, we need a cure for anti semitism like a cure for cancer, or a vaccine for the virus of anti semitism, because the hate is spreading like in the 1930s/ 1940s before the Holocaust happened, which is very terrifying
I heard the entire 20 or so minute speech by Ben Shapiro. It was really excellent. I recommend listening to it. He did indeed not pull any punches and said what needed to be said, especially about the fringe, antisemitic Fuentes and Carlson. Kol haKavod.
Totally agree with Mr. Berry! An absolutely excellent speech! We can only hope it is listened to by more of those who need to hear it!
Amen!!!
Aaliyah is the answer obviously that’s what God is telling us with all these messages of despicable Jew hatred
Jew hatred exists in Israel too unfortunately. The worst pogrom since the Holocaust occurred on October 7th in Israel. There are many good reasons to make Aliyah. Safety is not one of them.
That was Hamas from Gaza. What Jew hatred in Israel do you mean.
Much of the Arab population living in Israel wishes for its destruction and would actively assist in it. That’s the Jew hatred I’m referring to.
This article is excellent!
Thank you Rabbi Burg for an excellent article and so right on target.
We do owe a debt of gratitude to Ben Shapiro for his moral courage, grit and determination to no matter what speak the evident truth and educate the 'masses' in the process. It takes strength, conviction and belief in what is right and good in this world and identify the clear differentiation between good and evil. Calling out the evil for what it is - a bold step in this ever evolving world we find ourselves in We can all learn from him that as a representative of G-D here on earth we have an obligation to be a light onto the nations and beacon of moral strength and righteousness for ourselves and others.
Chazak V'Amatz!!!!
Yes, Ben Shapiro did an amazing job, but American Jews are still in denial. "What good for the Jews is good for America" is over. It has happened every time. HaShem is clearly signaling, do you hear the shofar? Its time to come home. No more excuses, welcome home to Israel my dear American co-religionists!!
Jews are in denial all over the world, not just America. I’m proud of the way Ben Shapiro spoke out and wish others would too.
Oct. 7 happened in Israel. Trrists were emboldened by how the Israeli government had previously forced Jews alive and the opposite out of their homes and communities, includingfarms, synagogues, places of learning and even graveyards … many Jews in Gush Katif had made aliya to come home to Israel (especially from India but also other places). Brave IDF members sit in prison in Israel because in the heat of the moment they rushed to save the life of a victim of trrr rather than the suicide bomber who was a few inches closer to the IDF member and therefore the IDF member is found guilty of breaking triage protocol. Those learning Torah jailed for not joining that army… Israel is our home with Moshiach and biblically, and those who currently serve G-d and help others there better.
The Torah explicitly gives reasons why the Israelite men could defer military service (a new wife, planting a vineyard.) Learning Torah was not among those reasons. Separate units for Haredim is necessary. Allowing them to stay home while other Israelis put their lives on the line is unacceptable. Alternatively, draft Haredi women.
Actually, Haredi women and regular religious women and do national service instead, and maybe so can men, when I was a teenager I was in Moshav Elizar in Gush Hazion I think in Judea and Samaria and a teenager if army age did national service and was a teacher or something like that, does anyone besides me know, you can go to national service instead of the army sometimes, also you can go now to units that are not in combat, but having yo do with security and/ or computers, also being a rabbi, doctor, singer, medic, and a cook,( not only combat units) also Zaka and also Magen David Adom, which is also important to do
I totally understand the basic feelings. The thing is, the situation on the ground for decades is complicated. There is a long tradition of Israeli government being busy with obstacles to religious practice and lots of harassment just for the sake of trying to force religious Jews to become secular— If they need military soldiers so much (and perhaps they do) why is it that many Muslim Israelis can go straight to the medical school track rather than IDF? So much goes on in the politics. There are yeshiva students whohad prearranged to enter the army at an older age after studying in Yeshiva abroad, land in the airport in Israel and arrested— unbeknownst to them the legal arrangement was reneged. It’s a question of cases and policies that are ongoing for decades with an agenda.
You're promoting a typically antii-chareidi stance on the matter, probably without an inkling about why chareidim can't serve in the present structure of the IDF.
And to propose that chareidi women should serve shows that you couldn't care less about the valid reasons for them not to do so.
While it's true that the national religious segment of Israeli society manages to deal with the IDF's failings as a (basically) Jewish army, chareidim have a different ideology altogether.
When Torah learners do Hashem's will, He performs miracles for the rest of us. And if the Chanukah story isn't enough proof, consider the many "impossible" (as agreed by experts the world over) victories of Israel's defensive exploits since Oct. 7.
See beyond bias!
The residents of Kush Katif predicted it, that Israel won't have peace but terrorism, instead of fruits, vegetables , flowers, hot houses, and a beautiful moshav, the terrorists dismantled everything including the Shuls and made terror tunnels and use missles, kites, houses of worship, hospitals, houses, schools for terrorism, and human shields, and in my opinion why do you need tunnels if they are not trains running in Gaza, only for terrorist purposes the irony is the government of Israel paid to make the terror tunnels, why are Jews like ostrichs with their heads in the sand
Absolutely. Military experts knew it. Torah knows it. Secular politics went against what is clear to its own secular military. See “Make Peace” by Rabbi Elisha Pearl who lives in the land of Israel. It’s a well documented book, but you can also see the ideas in video talks by googling. Israel is the canary in the mine. Has to follow the right policies for Israelis and to stop trrism worldwide.
Shapiro is a trooper, but he’s also being crushed on facebook—including his own fb site.
As to Carlson and Fuentes, it would have helped Jewry’s cause were it not the font of leftist extremism in this country. The 1965 Immigration Reform Act was a massive error and wedging the doors of America open only sealed Jewry’s fate. And that’s just for starters.
The Frankfurt Schools ideology is the dominant narrative among Jews today. The contents of the 2001 NJPS is the result. This report should never have been compiled, leave alone released for all the world to use for planning purposes against Jewry and Israel, but leftist Jews what they do: betray and sabotage.
Ben did the right thing, but wont change a thing for Jewry or Israel.
That kind of defeatist thinking can only harm the cause of spreading the truth!
Of course Jews are outnumbered, but that has never stopped us from speaking truth or from miraculously winning our defensive wars, for that matter. In fact, others' jealousy of the Divine protection we receive may well be a primary reason for their hatred of us, illogical as that may be.
I believe Rabbi Burg is doing much more than simply lauding Ben Shapiro's moral courage: he's telling us that we need more Jews like him!
We just celebrated Hanukkah , which is evidence to this point, also the Jews and Israel are Hashem's people, in the end we will prevail, and our enemies will be in the pages of the history books, just like any empires that tried to destroy us, Am Yisrael Chai forever and ever
Can you extrapolate a bit further? Thanks
