Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, grated potato, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, turmeric, paprika and shawarma. Mix well.
  • Transfer mixture to a resealable plastic bag, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, or spread evenly in a rectangular pan lined with parchment paper. Flatten the mixture into a rectangle, cover, and freeze for 2 hours.
  • Meanwhile prepare dipping station. In one bowl, whisk eggs. In another, mix breadcrumbs with sesame seeds.
  • Remove the frozen mixture from freezer and cut it into even strips to form fries.
  • Dip each strip first in the egg, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat about 1–1.5 cm (1/2 inch) of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the schnitzel strips in batches until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dips or sides. Enjoy!
